Bill, My very large family the Schroeder’s Vacationed at Camp Show Me in the 1960’s we were from Chicago We use to Take All the Cabins for several weeks. I remember Doug, and my cousins who are still kicking also do. Enjoyed our vacations there Sorry to hear of his passing
Thank you Larry, Doug was great guy and served three tours in Vietnam. I did a little research and I think his brother Del lives in Colorado. It is nice, you have those family memories.
I was 12 years old and worked at Camp Sho Me during the summer of 1963. I was from Skokie, Illinois and my father had been old friends of the Burke’s in Chicago. Me and Doug slept in the old lodge and I remember the two dogs Nipper and Rastus. Doug was a diver and often he was in the surrounding lakes looking for old artifacts.

Larry, I will be in St.Paul on Saturday. I thought of coming to Pine River to see , if I could find the old resort.
