I nearly grew up there in early spring/summers. I was born in 1953 and was probably about 5 when my parents first took me there. My dad was Lawrence Heiny. He was from Lapel, Indiana and I’m from Indianapolis, Indiana.
We would spend 2 weeks there in late June and July. There’s so much I could tell you about our stays there. I think we stayed in nearly all the cabins at some time. I have many photos from over the years. I even introduced my late husband to this place. The last time I think my parents spent there was in
September and they left as snow was beginning to fly. I can’t remember what year that was.
Are the cabins still there? And do you rent them?
I spent every summer there with my family until my dad died in 1958. We would meet other familys from different states and all meet there the same week. I have wonderful memories of cutaway lodge and pictures of cabins etc. I specifically remember I think it was cabin #1 that the porch went out over the lake, the fish house for cleaning fish, and the bears coming out of the woods at night to raid the fish house. Wonderful memories. We drove there from Freeport, IL every year. I can remember we would also go into Canada. Such fun

Cutaway photos. We actually currently own this property and did not have the photo of the cabin 8 post card that you posted. Looks like you have photos of cabins 5 and 8. We have the one of 5 and also cabins 3 and 4. There are 8 total cabins. I found it very neat that you had these published. Thanks
We went there in June of 1980, caught a lot of crappie and northern that trip. We stayed in a cabin that had a lot of initials and all carved in the inside wood. Was pretty cool

I was there in the early 80s, and had a good time. Not many fish, but that’s fishing.
