I have great memories of staying at Blue Heron Lodge in the 60’s. Carl, Betty and Sally were amazing hosts. Our families and many others became friends and returned year after year. Classic resort. Beautiful beach. Lots of activities outside and socializing in the lodge. No internet or television at the resort then. A jukebox, library, and plenty of card and game tables for evening get togethers. Nice to see Sally’s note.
My folks bought Camp O’ Lakes resort in 1961 and changed the name the following year to Blue Heron Lodge, Carl and Betty Behrens. The same year we bought the resort Bayside Resort. Mom and dad were from Lincoln NE and the other couple was from Wahoo, NE.
