  1. Kathryn Ann Huntsman says:

Hello Dorothy, my name is Kay Huntsman and my Aunt Kathryn McCarthy and her husband Mac owned Tulaby Lake Inn when I was a little girl. Mac died and later my Aunt Bertha lost her husband and she lived there too. They had a small sort of general store where they sold groceries to people who had cabins in the area. They also had two counters, with swivel chairs and two booths in the store, and served simple meals, like burgers, chili or soup. They had two cabins and row boats to rent down at the lake. Half way down to the lake, they had a small building where they sold live bait. They also had a gas pump across the road. I am 77 now, but from the time I was 4 or 5, until I was maybe 17 we spent some time there every summer. If you are interested, I can tell you more, and I do have some pictures I could share.
    Kay

  2. Dorothy Auten Barnthouse says:

I grew up going to Balsam Beach resort on Tulaby Lake near Waubun Mn. My grandparent started the tradition, and my Parents honeymooned there. I have pictures of me there when I was 15 months old, and many memories of summer vacations there. I think the resort eventually closed. Would you have any information on it?
