Just doing a research project for my son’s school, and learned that my great grandpa built this lodge, and my grandparents, Merlin & Mabel Trepp, later ran it! Thanks for the photos!

Over the last few years I have tried at times to remember the name of the guy that ran the lodge on White Earth where my dad often went to fish. As kids in the 1950’s, my brother and I would get to go along and on some Sundays, the family would drive out there to visit an old friend of my dad’s and we would stop at the lodge on the way by. This morning, I saw a name in the Fargo Forum that suddenly caused the name Trepp to come to mind. That was it! I didn’t remember the first name to be Merlin until I saw this item but, bingo! That was it.

      Regards,
      Roger Klask

      Rebecca,
Merlin and Mabel were like an aunt and uncle to me. I spent my summers at their resort and attended church with Merlin, Mabel, Johnny and Teda.

I was there in the middle to late 50’s and I remember the Trepp’s very well. Would love to get some old photos from back then.

Hello Richard (my mom says, “Ricky”)
She would love to hear from you, and remembers you well. She said you all had many good times together, along with Jean, little Roy, and Jimmy!
