Our Toyne and Thomas Family’s spent many memorable summer holidays when we were kids at Birchwood Cabins in Detroit Lakes Minnesota. Those holidays were as good as going to Disneyland. I miss those days and will miss seeing the cottages Along the main road along the lake around the Main Street bend. Paddle boats fishing for sun fish and swimming was the best treat of the summer. And then shopping for our school supples and new first day to school outfits. My Mom and Dad 3 Sisters and one Brother in a car with no seat belts and we knew to behave for the trip. My older Sister always got to sit in the front with my Mom and Dad. Still can’t believe that six suitcases fishing rods and swimming gear all fit in the trunk of my Mom and Dads car and then the trip home today I have to wonder how did we pack all our extra purchases for that long trip. Here’s to you Birchwood Cabins – for all the wonderful crazy fun holidays we spent in those 4 small walls. It’ll never get better.
