My family stayed at Clarke’s Resort all through the sixties. We stayed in cabins two and three a couple of times, then Dad got a big, yellow canvas tent and we became the first tent campers. We camped between two basswoods in a cow pasture to the right just as you came over the hill. Clarkes installed an outhouse for us. My siblings still enjoy sharing some great memories from those days at Lake Francis. Clarkes were wonderful.
