Elm Bay and Sunset Bay were apparently two different resorts. These resorts were on Mission Lake in the 1950s:
MISSION LAKE (MERRIFIELD) 1950s
› Birchwood Resort (Bill & Sally Ross). Clean hskpg.
cabins. Innersprings, electricity, bottle gas, bathing.’
› Elm Bay Resort (Al Grand). Hskpg. cottages, electric
refrigerators, gas, good boats and fishing.
› Mission Beach Resort (Fred H. Carlson). 7 completely
equipped modern and semi-modern hskpg. cabins.
Showers.
› Sunset Bay Resort. A photo of the cabins at this
resort can be seen in Figure 57B. This resort is now a
campground with 75 sites.
Did this resort used to be called Elm Bay resort back in the 50’s ? I vacationed there as a young girl. It was owned by Al and Vi Grand Pre.
Thanks
