I have been going to Leech since I was two. I am now 71 and finally had to give up on Allens (Ivanhoe Resort) as they sold to someone who wants to rent only for the summer. We will have to find a new place.
ALLENS Resort sold to Jack and Merle Meyer in about 1940′ They sold to Ivan and Irene Flower in the early 70’s and then Bill an MaryDevries around 1980. They sold three years ago to South Walker Bay Resort and that’s all I know. Leech had a lot of resorts when I was a kid, some are gone. We can talk further if you like. Steve Twiselton
Half of the old resort went into South Walker Bay LLC and looks almost exactly as it did when it was Ivanhoe Resort at the end. I think it was about 2014 or 2013 when that happened. The west end of the resort from the road that comes into the resort west of there were sold into an association. The cabins are owned privately. Some of the cabins were sold off privately and leased seasonally when they were still running as a resort.

Thanks for the history. I may get in touch with you later if I have a question. Thanks for your interest in Minnesota’s early resorts. -Ren
