My father Dr. Ringle, a physician in Walker, MN, and Smokey Dallaire were very good friends. In 1938, when I was 7 years old, we stayed at Smokey Point Lodge. At that time, Smokey was the owner and a very gracious host.
My father and uncles stayed at Smokey Point in the forties. I believe it has been torn down and another resort is in that location. So glad I found this site.
